An award winning year for Independent Trustee Services Limited
I am very proud that in recent weeks ITS has won Independent Trustee of the Year awards in the Professional Pensions UK awards and the Financial Times Business Pensions & Investment Provider awards, the latter for the second successive year.
Running pension schemes is not a theoretical exercise, what we do has a very real impact upon people's lives. As Trustees our prime responsibility is to protect and maximise members' benefits, and these awards are recognition that we go about delivering this responsibility in a highly structured yet innovative and pragmatic way and handle with equal care the highly complex and the sound governance matters that we deal with.
It is particularly pleasing that the awards are from our peers in the pension community. We work closely with professionals from all pensions disciplines, and this industry recognition is very important to us. Our business has grown significantly in the last year, with many of our appointments stemming from recommendations from within the industry. As well as the overall development of the business, particular highlights of the last year include:
- Chairing the Trustee board of the scheme effecting the largest buy-out of the year
and - Receiving the largest bulk appointment by far from the Pensions Regulator.
We provide professional trustee services to over 120 occupational pension schemes, with our portfolio covering the whole pensions spectrum. This necessitates a wide breadth of knowledge and skill, and it is a tribute to my co-directors and support teams that we are able to effectively manage such a diverse workload drawing on the wide experience across the team. The pensions industry never fails to provide new challenges, and we believe that our ability to anticipate and adapt to the changing needs of the market were important factors in winning the awards.
We look forward to the remainder of 2009 and 2010 with confidence.
